The Sedt lineage traces just one generation to Cornille whose earliest known residence (in 1585) was Antwerp, in the Low Countries. He joined with the Protestants at Middelburg in Zeeland by 1587 and brought his small family to England the following year with his parents-in-law, Louis and Marie (Cateau) Boullin. Since his mother-in-law, Marie was born in Tourcoing in the 1540's, this possibly identifies an earlier residence for Cornille.
